You did SUCH A LOT. I never knew about the painted medieval chapel (it is so jewel-like) and I so very appreciate medieval art because the visual language of facial expressions etc. is different, but (I think you touched on this in your comments about grotesque-style carvings in a Norwich cathedral?) someone must have found dramatically flailing ladies and judgmental human-faced animals funny back then, too. I love that funny medieval expressions spans across many mediums.

What you said about street harrassment and the many layers of threat and punishment is important. It is so insidious that society can turn you into a weapon against yourself; at least you feel you have a perverse measure of agency with self-hatred.

It sounds so difficult and frightening that these dudes did those things to you, and you lived through that and still explored Paris.

Owen and his family and the coos sound lovely and I am glad H was kind to you.
